Ariana M. Thompson, MD

Ariana Mercedes Thompson, MD, specializes in internal medicine. She earned her Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of New Mexico School of Medicine. Dr. Thompson completed her Internal Medicine residency at Creighton University, where she cared for adult and senior patients across diverse clinical settings. Her experience included primary care, quality improvement initiatives, clinical research, and patient advocacy, with special interests in geriatric care, health equity, and continuity of care. She also served in leadership and mentoring roles, contributing to medical education, admissions efforts, and community-focused initiatives. Dr. Thompson believes that taking the time to listen to patients is key to improving their quality of life and health. She entered healthcare because of her passion for helping others and serving her community and is especially passionate about exercise, diabetes, and addressing food insecurity. Caring for older adults has been particularly meaningful to her as she works to support their independence, dignity, and well-being. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with family, reading books, and listening to music.
