Alan Jay Sonsky, MD

Dr. Alan J. Sonsky, MD, is a gastroenterologist with more than three decades of experience caring for adult patients with digestive health conditions. Originally from Brooklyn, New York, he completed his undergraduate studies at Brooklyn College and earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Valencia. Dr. Sonsky completed his internship and residency training at Long Island College Hospital, followed by fellowship training at St. Mary's Hospital. He has practiced gastroenterology for 34 years, bringing deep clinical expertise and a patient-first philosophy to his work. His approach emphasizes attentive listening, thoughtful evaluation, and prioritizing patient well-being in every decision. Outside of work, he enjoys swimming, traveling, and spending time with his family, including his spouse and children.
