Abbas Al Alawi, MD

Dr. Abbas Al Alawi, a board-certified family medicine & geriatric medicine specialist, performed his postdoctoral fellowship in Academic Geriatrics at Baylor College of Medicine in 2014 and a fellowship in Geriatric Medicine at the same institution in 2013. Dr. Al Alawi completed the Baylor Family Medicine Residency Program in 2012. He earned his medical degree from Dow Medical College in Pakistan in 2002 and served as a general physician at King Saud Chest Hospital, Saudi Arabia, from 2005 to 2006. Dr. Al Alawi has co-authored articles in the Journal of Surgical Research. Before joining us in 2024, Dr. Al Alawi was a family medicine faculty member at Baylor College of Medicine, serving at Harris Health System's Gulfgate Community Healthcare Center. Passionate about brain health, diabetes, heart health, exercise, and obesity, he is dedicated to senior care, emphasizing the importance of empowering patients to make informed health decisions. Dr. Al Alawi chose medicine to help others and serve his community. Outside of work, he enjoys cooking, reading books, and spending time with his family.
