Dr. Wesp recently joined our Shreveport clinic in Louisiana as a Primary Care Physician. He is board certified in Internal Medicine from the American Board of Internal Medicine and has been a medical doctor for 32 years. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from Georgetown University and was a member of the Phi Beta Kappa and Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Societies. Dr. Wesp has a long history of working with elderly patients and their families, including diagnosing and treating terminal illness. Initially, Dr. Wesp thought he wanted to be a chemist but chose to enter healthcare when he realized that he preferred working with people rather than in a lab. According to Dr. Wesp, what he likes best about his profession is caring for patients by means of working together as a team to improve health outcomes. He believes in ensuring patient satisfaction by helping patients build confidence in his decision-making and working together toward a common goal. Dr. Wesp defines the “right relationship” with patients just like his philosophy of care: “working together as a team to improve the quality of health, and working towards a common goal,” he says. Dr. Wesp prides himself in being an honest person and devoted husband. He has four children and two grandchildren. When he is not caring for patients, Dr. Wesp enjoys spending time with his wife antiquing, gardening, going to his grandson’s baseball games, and watching soccer —which he played in high school.
