Mary Kelly, APRN, joined CenterWell as a board-certified adult and geriatrics nurse practitioner. Ms. Kelly earned her Master of Science in Nursing from Columbia University, where she was inducted into the Sigma Theta Tau International Nursing Honor Society. Before CenterWell, she spent four years as a nurse practitioner with Landmark Healthcare. She also spent five years at Compassus Hospice and Palliative Care, providing symptom management and primary care for home-bound patients. Ms. Kelly enjoys talking with patients and empowering them to take control of their health challenges. She especially loves helping them understand how to safeguard their health and independence. At CenterWell, she has found a workplace where she says the teamwork is wonderful. In her view, the ideal patient-provider relationship is open, collaborative, and respectful. She describes her approach to achieving patient satisfaction: I put aside the computer at the start of each visit and speak with the patient, inviting questions and an opportunity to learn about what is important to them. Outside of her work, she enjoys watching movies, spending time with her children, and traveling.
