Mahveen Sohail, MD

Dr. Mahveen Sohail joined CenterWell as a fellowship-trained, board-certified internal medicine and geriatrics specialist. Dr. Sohail performed her geriatrics fellowship at Harvard Medical School after completing her internal medicine residency at Baylor College of Medicine (BCM) in Houston, TX, where she earned her medical degree. Her accolades include Houstonian Magazine's Top Doctors in 2021. Before joining CenterWell, Dr. Sohail served in the geriatrics and palliative medicine sections at BCM. Her work included developing algorithms for older adults undergoing complex surgeries and collaborating with hospitalists to reduce the risk of avoidable readmissions. Driven by a passion for positive change, Dr. Sohail focuses on caring for seniors with complex needs and champions a team-based approach, involving patients, families, and colleagues in decision-making. Dr. Sohail values open communication and mutual respect, creating a comfortable space for patients to share concerns. Her holistic approach and commitment support CenterWell's compassionate values. Outside of her work, she cherishes family time and outdoor adventures, having visited 11 U.S. National Parks in five years.
