Kyle Magee, M.D.

Dr. Magee admits that he became a physician “to truly help others – as cliché as that sounds,” he says. Growing up, he was in awe of his own family doctor, who poured his heart into his work and was beloved by his patients. Dr. Magee followed in his footsteps and has been in the healthcare field for 27 years. Board certified in Internal Medicine, he works out of the Covington, LA center. He earned his M.D. degree and completed his residency at Louisiana State University School of Medicine.

As a physician, Dr. Magee spent his first 12 years working at Family Medical Clinic, then spent eight years at Riverside Medical Clinic as physician and later CEO. Next, at JenCare, he was Chief Medical Officer for the Louisiana market for two years. Before joining CenterWell, he was Regional Medical Director for four years at People’s Health/Primary Care Plus, responsible for managing the performance, quality and compliance of the clinical team.

What Dr. Magee enjoys most about his profession is the relationships he’s forged with his patients along the way. According to him, “There is no greater reward than knowing that in some way you were a part of getting your patients back to their ‘best.’”

And to Magee, the commitment to senior care is the best part of working at CenterWell. He feels honored to help provide better health and improve the longevity of “those who have given their best to us for most of their lives.” He believes that giving patients time to ask questions, and engaging them in their care by being active participants in their treatment plan helps build trust and a great doctor-patient relationship. “I treat my patients the way I would want a member of my family treated. Being kind, courteous, compassionate, and just getting to know them as a person goes a long way,” he adds.

Dr. Magee says he is proudest of his two redheads, his wife and his daughter, who recently graduated from college. He is an avid LSU Tigers fan, and on any given Saturday night in the fall, you can find him watching his favorite team on TV. He also enjoys playing golf and traveling with his wife.
