Since the age of 16, Elizabeth Hernick has been caring for geriatric populations. She began as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), worked her way up to RN, and finally APRN, after attaining her Masters from the University of Minnesota. Today, she is a board-certified Nurse Practitioner who specializes in Geriatrics, with 35 years of experience under her belt, and a breadth of experience with diverse populations and cultures. Before joining CenterWell, Elizabeth was a public health nurse at MVNA for 15 years, and at Fairview Health Systems for seven years before that. At MVNA, she provided home care to a variety of populations that included veterans, and impoverished and home-bound patients. Elizabeth has worked at the CenterWell in Greer, South Carolina for several years now, and tells us that making relationships with patients and teaming up to achieve health goals, is what she enjoys most about her job. She believes that caring for others is an essential part of life, and the reason she chose a healthcare profession. According to Elizabeth, satisfying patient care starts with excellent customer service, and she makes sure she has time to listen and be compassionate with her patients. During her time off, she loves hiking, camping, quilting, wine-tasting, and spending time with her large extended family which includes her husband, three grown children, and one grandchild who always makes her smile!
