Dana R Singletary recently joined our center on South 2nd Street in Louisville as a Certified Family Nurse Practitioner. She has 22 years of experience in healthcare beginning as an LPN, RN, and finally, APRN. Dana comes to CenterWell from Family Health Center, where she was a Family Nurse Practitioner for the last four years, and prior to that, she was a Telemetry Staff Nurse at Baptist Health Louisville for two years.
Both of Dana’s grandmothers were her inspiration to become a healthcare provider. Each worked in hospitals for more than 50 years until they retired, one as an LPN and one in dietary. When Dana would visit them on the weekends, they would always have a story about how a patient touched their heart. “My grandmothers told me before passing, ‘God has gifted you to serve and change lives - therefore go and walk in your calling.’ And my decision to be a healthcare provider has been the best one I’ve ever made,” she says. Dana enjoys her senior patients for their wisdom and knowledge, and as a new provider at the center, she applauds CenterWell’s focus of caring for all aspects of a patient’s well-being.
In order to become an APRN FNP-C, Dana earned her Master of Science in Nursing-Primary Care from Indiana Wesleyan University in Louisville. She tells us that the best part about being an NP is building provider-patient relationships and watching her patients’ health improve. Her philosophy of care is to treat every patient as if they are family or a friend.
When she is not seeing patients, you can find Dana spending time her with her family, traveling or crafting.
